Glassing the new ride

First time marko EPS foam/ epoxy build. Seems pretty easy just more expensive than polyester resin and polyurethane foam. The resin was about $50 more but the blank was about the same, maybe $10 more at the most. Also I don't recommend glassing in the garage in the winter. Can't control temperature well enough in there. I used Greenroom epoxy resin and that stuff is super easy to use just 2:1 epoxy to hardener. EPS marko foam is easy to plow also. Hope this thing works well. It may be hard to Craigslist it due to over head costs.

Big swell event this weekend!

OMG!  This is gonna be huge. The biggest I've seen here on the east coat. Hope we can find a good spot to get some double over head barrels!  Oh, and yes that does say 13-16 feet @ 12 seconds.  Sounds like a tough paddle out.

Product review O'neill Hyper Freak wetsuit jacket(top)

I purchased this wetsuit to for spring and fall use. Well it's the fall water temps of about 70 degrees + or - a few, with air temps of 80+ down to the upper 60s. This thing rocks. It's 1.5 millimeters thick long sleeve. Takes the chill out of the air and makes morning fall and spring sessions enjoyable. Like all wetsuits fit is key! The snugness of a good fit keeps it from having a cold flush feeling when you hit the water. The tops run anywhere from $50 - $100. The tested version retails for about $90. This model has a stash pocket, quick draw elastic band at the bottom and a board short loop to keep it from riding up.

If you surf warm water with a little chill in the air, I recommend this top for a 3+ days a week surfer. If your just a weekend warrior maybe pick up the low end model.

Just a little project I've been working on for about a week. My bro Gray snapped this bad boy about a year ago. He was gonna throw it away and asked if I wanted it to do anything with. Since my buddy Matt might com into town, and needs a shred sled, I thought if I bring it back, that maybe he'll be able to use it. What do you guys think?  This thing was in two pieces last week!

Great 3-5 ft day 5/22/12

This morning was super fun. First thing this AM it was clean and probably chest to shoulder on me. Got some great A frame sets. Later it started to closeout and get high tidey. The wind started to mess up the faces a bit also.  Super fun though, paddle out if you can. The first pic is of the board I road today. I finally got to put the fish away and step onto a more performance oriented board.  I was riding my 5'8" Rock-up, which is a step up board but really can be surfed in anything about 4ft and up (chest to way overhead).
